Literature

Everyone has their own taste in literature, but some of my favorite stuff comes from the Russians. Tolstoy and Chekhov are among my favorites. War and Peace has a lot to offer if you're willing to put in the work, but if you'd rather have shorter things to read, then pick up some of the Anton Chekhov's short stories, plays, and novellas (The Duel is incredible).
Very often literature has just as much or more to offer than philosophy, and the Russians are particularly good at infusing their literature with philosophical questions about our existence. Indeed, the meaning of life seems to be a pervasive theme throughout much of Russian literature.
